AISI type 302 stainless steel balls meet requirements for an unhardened ball with excellent toughness and resistance to corrosion. Corrosion resistance may be increased through annealing. Both non-annealed and annealed balls are widely used in valves and related equipment.
Stainless steel type 302 balls are capable of resisting corrosion by such agents as oxidizing solutions, most organic chemicals, food stuffs and sterilizing solutions. They are moderately resistant to sulfuric acids. Nonmagnetic properties are available upon request.
Applications include aerosol, sprayers, finger pumps mechanisms, milk machine blenders, food processing equipment and medical applications.

AISI type 316 is an austenitic, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel and heat resisting steel with corrosion resistance superior to most other chromium-nickel stainless steels in many types of chemical corrodents, as well as, marine atmospheres.
Applications include phosphate industry parts, textile finishing equipment, printing equipment, body jewelry and valve industries.

AISI type 316L stainless steel balls meet requirements for an unhardened ball with excellent toughness and resistance to corrosion. Corrosion resistance may be increased through annealing. Both non-annealed and annealed balls are widely used in valves and related equipment.
Type 316L is a low carbon austenitic, chromium-nickel-molybdenum stainless steel with general corrosion resistance similar to type 316, but with superior resistance to intergranular corrosion following welding or stress relieving.
It is suggested for use in certain corrosive environments for parts that are fabricated by welding and cannot be subsequently annealed. Parts made from 316L are generally limited to service temperatures up to 800ºF (425ºC).

AISI type 440-C stainless steel balls afford the advantage of maximum hardness combined with corrosion-resisting properties. This hardness, together with precise geometry and fine surface finish, makes them especially useful for bearing and valve applications where severe environmental conditions may occur.
Consumable electrode vacuum meleted (CEVM) and vacuum induction melted/vacuum arc remelted (VIM-MAR) materials are available upon request.
Material Analysis:
All sizes and grades of corrosion-resisting hardened stainless steel balls are made to ASTM 756. Passivation to ASTM A380 and QQ P 35 is available upon request.
